Inky Life Drawing

For this piece I used mainly charcoal to get more of a feel for the shading on the woman's body, I also found that the use of charcoal adds to the appearance of a soft skin texture. I then added the orange Ink background to give a more 3D look to the piece as warm colours create depth, it also brought out the contrast within shading on the body as it wasn't just being compared to white paper.













For this piece I started off with ink of a stick to find the proportions and shape of the body without having to be too precise. Then for the shading I used various other colours of ink combining cool and warm colours to create depth and a delicate feel to the piece.

Everyday Objects

Here is an observational drawing I did of everyday objects (my current project theme is everyday objects). The original contrast didn't come through very well on the scanner so I took it into Photoshop and adjusted the white balance to darken the lines more and make it more contrasted to give more definition to the objects.

'Logical Flow'

I made this in response to Michael Busselle's 'Logical Flow' piece from the book Creative Digital Photography by Michael Busselle. I chose three unrelated pictures just as he did for his piece, his piece seemed to evoke the idea of a memory or time pass, so I thought I'd follow that theme but using my own images (only the clock face is from Google, the rest is my photography.) I chose to respond to Busselle's piece because I really liked the dream-like/ghostly effect it gave the image, whilst also widening my knowledge of photo manipulation on Photoshop (even though this is very basic).

Digital Wolf

Still continuing on improving my digital painting skills, I also decided to give myself a harder task of digitally painting a Wolf. This challenged me because this is the second successful wolf I have drawn the first being in pencil which I will upload soon. I decided to draw most of the attention to the eyes as they are usually the most popular thing about the appearance of a wolf in paintings and photos as their eyes tell you a bit more about their characteristics which is something very important. I tried to make this wolfs appearance differ from the first one I drew to show different gender maybe, characteristics,etc because I feel this is important to make something your own.
